Back from the barn after milking and leading the cow out to the field,
Margaret and her two fat geese take a lazy stroll down a country lane.
This intensive needle felted sculpture has been created entirely of sculpting wool roving with only a sharp barbed needle over a wire armature, which, after many, many hours, takes on a form.
After perfecting the anatomy of all creatures, further detail is added.
This includes needle felting Margarets Norwegian sweater, adding colours, patterns, cow markings, geese beaks apron and so much more.
I have also hand made Esters collar from wire and a cut up roller skate strap leather.
Margarets gumboots are made by myself by hand out of Fimo clay. Aside from adheareing glass eyes and all creatures to a wooden base, there is absoloutely NO SEWING or any other form of attatching by any other means.
The milk pail is an upcycled piece as is Esters bell.
The piece measures 16" long x 12" high.
